Welcome

Welcome to my personal website. I currently serve as the head of the Models and Skills Development Section within the Macroeconomic Modeling Department at Banco de la República, the Central Bank of Colombia. I hold a PhD in Economics from the Vancouver School of Economics at the University of British Columbia, and have previously served as an instructor at Universidad del Rosario and Universidad Nacional de Colombia.

My research interests primarily lie in the fields of macroeconomics, labor, international trade and development. Currently, my areas of study include the implications of firm-level factor misallocation for comparative advantage, the origins of observed income gaps across sectors in developing countries, the consequences of immigrant misallocation for the productivity of host countries and the impacts of the pandemic on the labor markets of developing countries, among other topics.
